Accessibility Statement
Central Lense is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continuously improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
Our Commitment
Central Lense Inc. is committed to digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that every person deserves equal access to information and functionality on our website and within the digital tools we provide.
We strive to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA conformance across our digital properties. Our accessibility efforts are guided by compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III, which covers public accommodations and commercial facilities in the digital space, and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which establishes requirements for electronic and information technology.
Accessibility is not a one-time project — it is an ongoing commitment woven into our design, development, and content processes.
Conformance Standard
Our target conformance level is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.
In plain language, WCAG 2.1 Level AA means that our website is designed and built so that:
- Content is perceivable — users can identify content and interface elements through sight, sound, or touch.
- Interface components are operable — users can navigate and interact with all controls and navigation using a keyboard, mouse, touch screen, or assistive technology.
- Information and interface operation are understandable — content is readable, predictable, and provides input assistance where needed.
- Content is robust — it can be reliably interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies such as screen readers.
Measures Taken
Central Lense takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our website and digital services:
- Semantic HTML structure — We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and HTML5 semantic elements to ensure content is logically structured and navigable.
- Keyboard navigation support — All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard, and navigation follows a logical tab order throughout every page.
- Screen reader compatibility — Our pages are tested with leading screen readers to ensure content, controls, and dynamic updates are announced correctly.
- Sufficient color contrast ratios — Text and interactive elements meet or exceed the minimum contrast ratios specified by WCAG 2.1 Level AA (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Alt text for images — All informative images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so they are ignored by assistive technologies.
- Focus management and visible focus indicators — Interactive elements display a clearly visible focus indicator, and focus is managed appropriately during dynamic content changes.
- Responsive design for various devices — Our website adapts to different screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels without loss of content or functionality.
- ARIA labels where appropriate — We use WAI-ARIA attributes to provide additional context for assistive technologies when standard HTML semantics are not sufficient.
- Skip-to-content links — A skip navigation link is provided at the top of each page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass repetitive navigation and jump directly to the main content.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure the accessibility of our website and digital services, some areas may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations:
- Third-party content — Embedded videos, external widgets, and content hosted by third-party providers may not meet all WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We work with our vendors to encourage accessibility improvements, but we do not have direct control over their content.
- External links — Links to external websites and resources are provided for convenience but may not conform to the same accessibility standards we apply to our own properties.
- Legacy content — Some older documents or resources may not yet have been updated to meet current accessibility guidelines. We are prioritizing remediation of these materials.
